We not only have the capacity, but also the responsibility to play an active role in the planet- galaxy- universe. We can interact, intervene, and alter that which is not good, if we would so choose. In other words, we need to quit complaining and get on with the job at hand; establishing the kingdom of God here on earth as it is above- and throughout.

As with the more recent discoveries in quantum physics, the moment we decide to exercise our FREE WILL and to CHOOSE among the many waves of possibilities, we create a “downward causation” that manifest in the particle that was once just a wave (this is quantum physics lingo of course).

The future of the universe is not pre-determined!

We’re not here to lay down and let others perform in our place. We all have a ROLE to play. It’s time to get on stage.

We need to get beyond all the dogmatic religious legalism. Life is not about doctrine, but about love and mystery. As Miguel de Unamuno wrote, “It’s not important that you know everything- just the important things.” Are you getting the picture?

Now, let’s JUST BE IT!

The origins of Kabbalah lie in early Jewish Tantric Mysticism, but from those beginnings the study of Kabbalah has grown and branched out, first into a Christian and Islamic Kabbalah, and then further, so that today many people who study and practice Kabbalah do so outside of any particular religious affiliations, treating it as an independent spiritual system in itself. Within Jewish legend there are two distinct stories of the origins of Kabbalah; the first states that it was received by Moses on mount Sinai, but whereas the commandments were for everybody the esoteric teachings of the Kabbalah were passed on to a select few as a secret inner teaching. The second states that these teachings have always been with man, having been given to Adam by an Archangel at the time of his expulsion from the Garden of Eden, out of pity for his plight and a desire to help.

Within Judaism the Torah and other ‘exoteric’ teachings were often considered to be the body of Jewish teaching, and the Kabbalah, at the height of its practice, was considered to be the soul. In many ways Kabbalistic teachings can be thought of as the distilled essence of spiritual teachings, without the cultural baggage and rigid dogmas that go along with religious teachings. It is because of this that the Kabbalah has been so successful at moving out of the confines of the Jewish faith to provide inspiration, guidance and empowerment to people of all different backgrounds and beliefs. The modern study of Kabbalah has become intimately entwined with the concept of the ‘Perennial Philosophy’; the idea that there is a unifying thread of truth behind all of the world’s main religious and spiritual teachings. Kabbalistic principles and teats can be used to understand and draw upon the teachings of a wide range of very different spiritual traditions by stripping away everything but the perfect ‘essence’ or soul of the teaching.

The esoteric nature of Kabbalah means that rather than being composed of a set of rules, rituals and dogmas, and being essentially social and collective in nature, like exoteric religions, it guides its practitioners on a very personal journey and is composed in a large part of techniques; the path of Kabbalah is that of Tantric Mysticism and magick, an of philosophy rather than dogma.

The entirety of Kabbalistic wisdom is contained within and expressed by a single diagrammatical representation and system of classification called the Tree of Life; it has 10 spheres, or sephiroth, and 22 paths connecting them. The 10 Spheres can be thought of as describing objective existence whereas the 22 paths describe the subjective experience of being human. This system of classification lends itself well to use as a tool for the objective study of comparative religion and spiritual studies; it also led the infamous occultist Aleister Crowley to describe the Tree of Life as a ‘spiritual filling cabinet’.

In addition to being used philosophically as a system of classification the tree of life is also used in meditative and ritual practices. Associated with each sphere and path are the Archangels and choruses of Angels, and other symbolic representation of their nature.

Many of the so called magical practices of Kabbalah can be understood in a modern scientific sense. The perfect example of this is invocation, in which the practitioners invoke the power of some spiritual force within themselves. This is described as a supernatural occurrence, but can be explained entirely as a psychological process harnessing the power of the subconscious mind.

I would wholeheartedly recommend the practice of Kabbalah to anyone.

The air we breathe, both while walking on land or normally compressed into a Scuba tank, is comprised of two major natural gas wall heateres and a small collection of trace natural gas wall heateres. The most prevalent natural gas wall heater in our breathable air is Nitrogen which equals 79%. Oxygen, which is the natural gas wall heater that our life depends on, is a mere 20.9% of the natural gas wall heater we breathe. The .1% left over is made up of a bunch of trace natural gas wall heateres, many of which, like Nitrogen, are inert and have little effect on us, normally, while walking on land. While this blend is harmonious and life-enabling, it all changes once you add pressure while Scuba diving.

Nitrogen – the evil natural gas wall heater!
From the first day you strap a Scuba tank to your back, you hear about Nitrogen Narcosis and Decompression sickness. In some cases, instructors scare you into memorizing the causes to reinforce the notion of managing your NITROGEN. Simply put, Nitrogen Narcosis is caused by the combination of depth and nitrogen absorption. When you reach a depth, usually below 100 feet, if your physiology isn’t cooperating, you may get “Narced”. An intoxicating feeling that may impair your judgment. The deeper you go, the more susceptible you become to Narcosis. At some depth, everyone gets Narced. Decompression Sickness is more severe and requires proper planning in order to avoid getting the “Bends”. Decompression Sickness is not caused by depth, it is caused by loading Nitrogen into your body. The deeper you go, the faster you will load Nitrogen. At some point, you will load enough Nitrogen, where you will need to control the off-natural gas wall heatersing prior to surfacing. These we call Decompression Stops. If you load enough Nitrogen and forego a Decompression Stop, it is highly likely you will get Bent. Even a mild case of the bends is painful and perhaps even life threatening. A severe case can, at best, cause permanent neurological damage and highly possible you could die from it.

Thus, from your first day, you are taught by your instructor to manage your nitrogen levels using a dive computer or a by using dive planning tables for “No Decompression Limits”. In either case, you are planning your dive so that you are not needing Decompression Stops. Nitrogen management means you have planned your dive to not max out your Nitrogen loading. Additionally, you are taught the symptoms and cures, for you and your buddy, on how to combat, avoid and relieve Nitrogen Narcosis. By the end of your beginner Scuba Diver class, you are proficient in Nitrogen Management, staying away from getting Narced and planning your dives to stay away from even the mildest case of the Bends.

Oxygen – the good natural gas wall heater?
If Nitrogen is the bad natural gas wall heater and Oxygen is the life giving natural gas wall heater, then Oxygen is the good natural gas wall heater, right? Well, Oxygen is generally the good natural gas wall heater. You definitely need it to live. However, Oxygen epitomizes the saying, “too much of a good thing can be bad for you”. In fact, there are times when too much Oxygen can be as deadly and hit your faster than Nitrogen. Oxygen is the good natural gas wall heater with some really bad character traits. However, we as a new Scuba diver, we never hear about these bad traits. In fact, until we start looking into Enriched Air or Technical Diving, we never even hear that Oxygen could be a bad thing. Being joyous and free of care is inevitable side effect of surrendering to what is.  In that moment Francis is no achieving anything, he is not attached to this joy.  If he did this for joy it would have been denied to him, because it would have not been a surrender to God’s will, but just another form of ego striving for something.  It is important to understand that he is at this moment out of the field of time and thought.  He is totally surrendered to God’s will without any side – requests.  Francis did not make this happen.  Person can not achieve such a state. It is either granted or not, but it is not achievable by any will.  Only in such a state person can perhaps fully understand the profound beauty and liberation that comes from the act of renunciation. It is not something intellectually understandable, you either go into it or not.  But if you go into it because it is your desire to’ sit next to God’ ;it will be denied to you.  The notion of absolute denial of yourself is imperative – it is the first and last step; there are no hidden motives, no achievements.  From this point forward Francis understood that “Take nothing on your journey (Luke 9:3” (201) is the basic ‘requirement’.  Obviously anything person owns and think of as ‘his’ will impede him in the act of denial of himself.  This is very clear to me, although even this can be a form of self gratification and even self denial can be an act of an Ego.

There are very finely defined nuances and differences that are understood only by the person who is actually going into it.  Any kind of intellectual speculation is just that: ‘speculation’.  The rest of the Francis’s life is based on self denial and renunciation.  The actual effects of such life are beautifully described on page 211: “ Holly poverty, which was all they had to meet their expenses, made them prompt for obedience, robust for work and free to travel.  Because they possessed nothing that belonged to the world, they were attached to nothing and feared to lose nothing.  They were safe everywhere, not held back by fear, nor distracted by care, they lived with untroubled minds and, without anxiety” (211-212).  This was a real renunciation and reality of it is more than proven in the following statement:” many insults were hurled against them as persons unknown and despised. But their love of the Gospel of Christ had made them so patient that they sought to be where they would suffer physical persecution rather than where their holiness was recognized and they could glory in worldly honor” (212).  No one can argue against this! It is complete, it is perfect!   Especially when this follows: “Their poverty seemed to them overflowing abundance.”(212) .  I can not even put in words how beautiful and profound such a statements are.  This is a living God for them, this is the salvation!   It can not get more clear and real than that.  There are many other things that could be picked as blueprintsof the Christian Tantric Mysticism but self denial is perhaps one of the most important.

Secularism is defined as a doctrine which tells us about equal respect to all religions or religious faiths both theistic and atheistic. Secularism is linked with the notion of religion and religious phenomena. Spiritualism is also defined as a doctrine which tells us about the nature and content of the concept of ‘Spirit’ which is completely transcendental. It is neither theistic nor atheistic.

Metaphysical aspect of Secularism deals with a faith-oriented concept of God or a concept of human. And epistemological basis of Secularism is concerned with religious awareness earned by both religious means and humanistic means. On the other hand, metaphysical aspect of Spiritualism deals with something eternal and absolute, and epistemological aspect of it is concerned with the concept of self-knowledge which leads to self-realization.

Ethical concern of Secularism leads to domination of human existence and common values like compassion, tolerance, fellow-feeling, impartiality etc. Moral of humanity is central to secularism.  Spiritualism speaks of a morality of higher order. This higher order situates all values in the light of trans-human facets which are generally not experienced by our senses. Intuition is the means to know these higher-order values. Truth is depicted as such a higher-order to Secularism.

While Secularism seems to be more humanistic and practical, spiritualism becomes more metaphysical and it often leads to mysticism. That is, in Secularism, there is no space for supra-sensuous elements, but in case of Spiritualism, the spiritual-masters claim for supra-sensuous elements in the practice of radical Spiritualism.

Methodologically, Secularism is rational and scientific but spiritualism has its method of speculation and sometimes, it claims support for establishing dogmatism or mysticism. Dogmatism results in mere faith on assumption of spirit of some non-natural entity in guise of the so called ‘Spirit’. Mysticism results in excessive supra-experiential adherence or support, i.e. ‘Tantra’ or Black Magic.

Secularism has always a social concern, but spiritualism may or may not have any social concern, The opposite of Secularism leads to religious fundamentalism whereas the opposite of Spiritualism leads to above materialism or physicalism.

The dualism between spirit and matter is lacking in Secularism, but in discourse of Spiritualism, the pre-supposition of such dualism is a necessary phenomenon. No one can ever say that there are theistic or religious secularism as well as atheistic or material Secularism. Secularism by its virtue has only the form and one dimension, i.e. religious tolerance. But there are different forms of spiritualism, i.e. idealistic spiritualism, humanistic spiritualism, cosmic spiritualism, etc.

The most fundamental difference between two lies in ‘end’ and ‘means’ distinction. Spiritualism appears as an ‘end’ itself but secularism acts as both ‘end’ and ‘means’. Secularism accepts the supremacy of human reason and Spiritualism emphasizes on the supremacy of faith.

Secular human may be a spiritualist but a spiritualist may necessarily not be a Secular. Religious affinity is neutral to Spiritualism.

Secularism is a doctrine of relativism whereas Spiritualism is a doctrine of absolutism. That is, Secularism may provide different world views with regards to conditions and factors availed in a context, but Spiritualism lacks these alternations. So, Secularism is oriental but Spiritualism is concrete one.

Both put different intellectual frame-works, but the centres of these frame-works are occupied by the sole concepts like religion and spirit. After all, both frame-works are directed to human who is considered as a free moral agent. As a free mortal agent human determines the true rational geography of these frame-works and stipulates principles or laws for its needful operation.

Deviation in Secularism is natural. But such deviations are not so easy in case of spiritual discourse. That is, a man of religion like Hindu or Muslim or Christian may give up his faith in a particular religion, may accept another or may totally discard. But in case of Spiritualism, there are no such possibilities. Once a man is ascribed as Spiritualist may be monist, dualist or qualified monist but he can never discard the spirit as the ultimate reality.

Let’s look at some interesting facts that are pointing toward the end of the world.

Coming to the 2012 theory, I must say that I personally believe in 21 12 2012 doomsday expectations. Although, I can’t say that I fully agree with the actual disasters that will take place, I do believe that something will happen and we should all be prepared for it, we should prepare to survive, to save ourselves and our beloved ones.
